eat & drink by the sprink
Kanteen @ 150 Alexander Ave, Sth Yarra – ride your bike, or drive, or walk, or whatever tbh I don’t actually care how you get there, just do yourself a favour and go. What was once a coffee cart by a toilet block on the Yarra, is now one of my fave places to brunch in Melbourne. The menu is simple but gr8 with the Spanish eggs and the avo & ricotta on toast a tie for first place, the pastries are delish and the cawfee is A+. The venue and location are gorgeous, overlooking Herring Island where, during summer, you can take a little ferry over to walk the sculpture trail and pretend you can analyse art, while holding the hand of a really hot Swede who is doing an excellent job of being really, really hot, but guys, it’s not about that. This cafe is perfect for every day of the year. You can pull up a seat under in the sunshine (or wrapped in a blanket) at one of the tables dotted along the river, or move inside for warmth / air con, depending which of the 13 seasons is taking place while you are there. Anyway this is very much an insider’s tip, so let’s just keep this between you, me and Dupree – kewl?

Unplugged Live 2016 @ NGV (5-10 June) – get vibey to visual art & contemporary music at the same timey.
